Have visited the NAS office, met the team on several occasions. Both Sonali and Nishttha are thorough legal professionals, also client friendly in all support. It's a pleasure working with them; wherever they were recommended, the resulting feedback has always been great about their approach and services delivered. Wishing them all the very best always.

After trying with various other law firms, I finally found, in NAS legal Advocates, the perfect law firm which is currently helping me fight my case/s. Sonali and Nishttha are not only devoted to their client's interests, but give ample time for advice to clients as well as for detailed methodical submissions to various authorities while representing their clients. There's a clear “client first” approach. They have come up with various options depending on each situation with much higher chances of ensuring success for their clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Trademarks are registered with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism. The process is: clearance search, filing and examination, publication in the Trademark Bulletin, a 30-day opposition period, then payment of the registration fee and issue of the certificate. Owners outside the UAE must file through a registered agent.

Official government fees are AED 6,500 per class (AED 750 examination, AED 750 publication, AED 5,000 registration). Expedited one-day examination costs AED 2,250 instead of AED 750. Professional fees are quoted separately.

Without objections or oppositions, typically around 3 to 6 months. The Ministry aims to decide on applications within 20 working days, followed by publication and a 30-day opposition period.

No. A UAE trademark covers all seven emirates but not other GCC countries. International protection requires national filings or an application under the Madrid Protocol.

Depending on the facts, you can file administrative complaints with the economic department of the relevant emirate, criminal complaints with the police, or civil claims before the UAE courts. We advise on the fastest and most cost-effective route.
